Calling all wine and food lovers – do you want the chance to go behind the scenes at one of the Yarra Valley’s leading wineries and see how a working vineyard operates - up close and personal?
The Rochford Wines Annual Open Door Weekend - held on the weekend of Saturday August 6 & Sunday August 7, 2016 – will be delivering a one of a kind experience - from 9:00am till 5:00pm each day – visitors will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes at Rochford Wines and experience how the winery operates and learn about a grape’s journey from the vine to the bottle.
Guests will also have the option to partake in an exclusive and intimate wine tasting hosted by Rochford’s highly awarded Chief Winemaker, Marc Lunt – who joined Rochford in 2011 and has more than a decade of wine industry experience.
Marc will share his extensive knowledge and showcases Rochford’s vintage wines and new releases – including a rare opportunity to taste Rochford’s 2015 Dans les Bois Pinot Noir which was recently awarded Gold at the International Decanter World Wine Awards in London – a world wine show attracting over 16,000 entries. Visitors can also enjoy a delicious meal at Rochford Wines Restaurant. The new Winter Menu consists of “Winter Warming” comfort food that will make these chilly months a little more bearable and far more enjoyable.
Dans les Bois – ‘In the Woods’ dinner
Guests are later invited to indulge at the special one night only Dans les Bois – ‘In the Woods’ dinner on Saturday August 6 at 6pm at a cost of cost of $150.00pp. The team of chefs at Rochford Wines have worked closely with Rochford’s winemakers to select the perfect wine companion for each dish on the menu – creating a dining experience not to be forgotten.
On the night guests can expect eight exceptional wines paired with eight immaculate dishes of French country fare and entertainment by an acclaimed French accordion accompanied with informative insights by
Rochford’s Chief Winemaker, Marc Lunt and Head Chef, Raki Andriana. Dinner guests will also be invited to taste Rochford’s award winning 2015 Dans les Bois Pinot Noir.
The team of chefs at Rochford Wines developed and honed their love for fresh local produce and cooking real food. Using only the freshest and local ingredients - the hearty menu is sure to delight taste buds and banish those winter blues.
