Nestled in Yarraville Village, Vault Café Bar Restaurant is a relaxed restaurant with a broad menu spanning pastas, grills and a wide assortment of mains and salads. The space is bright, airy and modern, boasting high ceilings and large outdoor seating areas which are perfect for lounging on a weekend and private functions.
What was formerly a restaurant called The Bank, has now been successfully under new management for under a year with a new focus on fresh, high quality produce, friendly service and generosity.
We started with a selection of delicious starts which included stunning kataifi scallops, chilli jam mussels served with crusty bread and ribbons of perfectly cooked Moroccan calamari served with sriracha mayonnaise.
For mains, the filet mignon was an absolute standout. 300gms of grain fed Black Angus filet mignon was cooked to
perfection and served with luxurious pumpkin puree, Portobello mushrooms, sautéed spinach and a decadent red wine jus. Displaying a mastery in the manner the steak was cooked, the thick cut of beef was cooked perfectly from end to end. A light searing ensured that it was lined with a thin crisp layer packed with caramelised beef flavour.
If you prefer a healthier and lighter option, we recommend the tabbouleh salad with grilled prawns. Nutrition dense, the salad boasted a wonderful amalgamation of cucumber, chick peas, heirloom cherry tomatoes, burghul, onions, parsley, baby spinach, goat cheese, red radish & lemon juice.
The drinks front is equally as exciting with options to suit everyone. Think skilfully prepared cocktails (the lychee martini is brilliant!), an array of hot drinks (including matcha lattes and hot apple ciders made with no added sugar).
Vault Café Bar Restaurant is a great all rounder in the west and well worth checking out.
