Archers and Sunset House at Marriott Hotel Docklands

Archers and Sunset House are a fine dining restaurant and cocktail bar respectively. Both offering Melbourne’s best within acclaimed new, Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands.

We started our evening with pre-dinner drinks at Sunset House which is adjacent to the hotel’s showpiece rooftop infinity pool. The bar offers 180-degree views across the Bolte Bridge and Port Phillip Bay and is primely positioned to look out to dazzling sunsets. Whatever you do, make sure you try the Sunset Sling – a stunning cocktail which is made from a heady mix of vodka, Dom Benedictine, pineapple, lime and Australian bitters. Simply delicious.

A quick ride down to the ground floor and we were at Archers – a moody, dark and sophisticated offering an elegant enclave for discerning dinners.

The restaurant serves Modern Australian fare. Designed by DKO Architecture, the hotel’s signature restaurant is nestled within a vaulted cellar-esque ceiling, reminiscent of Melbourne’s historic bridges and train stations.

Archers is best expressed as simple elegance on a plate, as the quality of the ingredients eloquently talk for themselves. Our top picks include the hearty ricotta and parmesan gnocchi served with wild mushroom as well as the stunning salmon rillette with crème fraiche and salmon roe.
