Lona

In Lona, owners Charles and Edward Sedgley have successfully embodied the relaxed style of San Sebastian with a setting conducive to enjoying tapas over delicious libations.

The venue boasts one of the largest Al fresco dining areas in St Kilda - with an expansive pergola as well as open air seating, it is a comfortable space with a great vibe.

The cocktail menu boasts a selection of old and new favourites. Or if you want something tailored perfectly to your taste, the bar's helpful mixologists will have you sorted. The bar also offers a selection of wines and craft beers designed to both complement the food as well as offer bang for your buck.

The venue also frequently features live music with their tapas menu complementing these aspects of the venue perfectly. The menu encourages sharing and is deliberately versatile - from holding you over between meals to a decadent feast.

To start we loved building our own charcuterie and cheese board. We adored our selectionof truffled salami, jamon serrano and Kulindi English style cheese.

The fish tacos (a dish that has developed quite a cult following) impressed. Beautifully crumbed fish sat atop warm tortillas canvassed with creamy chipotle mayo, lime, coriander and salsa.

Our favourite item on the menu was Lona's Flinders Island salt grass lamb ribs. Tender, falling off the bone, juicy and packed with flavour. Simply yum!

To finish the churros will ensure a sweet end to your visit.  Moist and light on the inside with a crispy exterior, we enjoyed dipping them in the accompanying thick white and milk chocolate sauce.
