Tonic & Grace

Gastrology visited Tonic & Grace thanks to the Australian Good Food Guide.

Only a few months old and Tonic & Grace already has a loyal band of followers.

It’s easy to understand why – the focus here is on serving wholesome food that is vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free without a single sacrifice to flavour. And boy do these guys have a winning formula.

While the creative menu offers plenty of dietary options for people with dietary requirements, the menu is versatile enough to satisfy everyone – simply add on protein or a bread of your choice to your order.

We loved every dish that we ordered at Tonic and Grace. Our absolute favourite was the cheekily named “Captain Gillenstalk” – a beautiful amalgamation of field, shitaki and oyster mushrooms served atop crusty thick cut pumpkin toast and finished with truffle oil, cashew cream, pine nuts, roasted herbs and chimichurri.

If you feel like something a little lighter with an Asian twang, then the Ying and Yam will do the trick – Roasted sweet potato is topped with kohlrabi, kale, kimchi, sprouts, beetroot hummus, pistachio and almond crumb and finished with a beetroot-lime dressing.

If you prefer something sweet for brunch, do not leave without trying the “Nyctophilia”. Think dark chocolate and pea protein pancakes served with fresh strawberries, luxurious COYO, roasted walnuts, salted caramel maple, dark chocolate ganache, buckwheat and almond crumb. Just yum!

On the drinks front there is plenty to love too - Excellent coffee (with 6 non-dairy milks to choose from), top notch juices, tonics and smoothies. It's all good.
