Wyndham Resort Torquay

Located at the gateway to the Great Ocean Road, Wyndham Resort Torquay showcases some of the best beach views on Victoria’s Surf Coasts. The resort is conveniently located opposite the beach at Zeally Bay and offers panoramic ocean views and excellent facilities. Torquay’s popular patrolled main beach and Surf Lifesaving Club are also an easy 15-minute walk away.

One bedroom deluxe apartment

The resort features hotel rooms and spacious one and two-bedroom apartments, most with private balconies. We loved staying at the resort’s one-bedroom deluxe apartment. The spacious apartment sleeps two guests and features one queen bed in the private bedroom. The apartment boasts a balcony with a lovely view of the resort, separate living/dining areas, a full kitchen, laundry facilities, ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower or shower over bath, and Wi-Fi (that you can access with an additional fee).

Facilities

Outstanding facilities, amenities and friendly service make this resort one of a kind. Facilities include a large outdoor lagoon-style swimming pool and spa pool, indoor heated lap pool, barbecue area, fully equipped gym, tennis court and children’s playground. The resort also offers bikes, e-scooters, table tennis and ‘foamie’ surfboards for guest convenience.

The ground floor café and bar, Winkipops (named after the famous local surf break), is the perfect place to relax for pre or post dinner with drinks and a chilled glass of wine.

Things to see and do around Torquay

The birthplace of iconic surf brands Rip Curl, Piping Hot and Quicksilver, Torquay is known as Victoria’s surfing capital.

Immerse yourself in the spirit of surf culture at the Australian National Surfing Museum, which houses the largest surfing collection in the world including pictures and hands-on displays. If golf is your passion, two 18-hole golf courses are within six minutes’ drive from Wyndham Torquay.

If you don’t bring a surfboard, you can hire one from the resort or one of Torquay’s many surf schools where you can take a surfing lesson. Out of the water, shop ’til you drop at the Surf City factory outlets.

For foodies (like us!) there is plenty to indulge in from bang for your buck Indian cuisine at Jashn to glorious fine dining at Samesyn to gourmet sandwiches and excellent coffee at Mortadeli.
