Emil's Cafe

In the heart of Pascoe Vale South, a corner once enshrined in memories now resonates with the aroma of heritage and the sizzle of contemporary flavours. Emil’s Cafe, a revival of the cherished El-Khoury family milk bar, redefines the essence of dining through a fusion of tradition and innovation.

We loved tasting our way through the menu.

Amidst the bustling brunch hub, the Super Salad emerges as a vibrant canvas. Grilled broccolini and asparagus entwine with kale, beans, peas, and an assortment of super seeds, forming a colourful tapestry with a 60-degree egg that binds the textures and flavours together. Tangy feta and smoked almonds dance on the palate with the lime yogurt's zesty notes.

Another must have is the 40-Degree Poached Salmon. Here, perfectly poached salmon finds repose upon a fragrant spiced rice pilaf. Beans dressed in a sweet soy and tahini embrace the dish, while the crackle of crispy salmon skin adds texture. We loved the addition of the herb salad which is a tribute to the harmonious union of Australian and Middle Eastern culinary nuances.

If you have a sweet tooth the Spiced Mahalabia awaits—a sweet reverie that transports patrons to an oasis of indulgence. Seasonal fruits intertwine with a delicate granola crunch, laced with whispers of rose water. White chocolate shavings adorn the dish, adding a touch of opulence. Completing this enchanting finale is the whimsy of fairy floss—a nostalgic note that seals the experience with a hint of childhood joy.

Emil’s Cafe is a tapestry where flavours weave tales of tradition, innovation, and familial pride. Each dish, meticulously crafted and curated, reflects the El-Khoury family's commitment to bridging the past and present, inviting patrons to partake in a culinary narrative that transcends time.
