Esperisma combines breathtaking views with a magnificent culinary offering to deliver an experience that is simply unforgettable. This is rivalled only by its world class menu which features Mediterranean and Greek cuisine made using locally sourced seasonal produce. The menu is the creation of Executive Chef Vasilis Zacharakis and is executed to perfection by Chef de Cuisine Magoulas Evgenios.
On the drinks front, a commendable wine list sits alongside some of the best cocktails on the island. Unsurprising given all the drinks are designed and executed by Executive Mixologist Papavramopoulos Panagiotis, who is well known as one of the best barmen in Greece. Bearing that in mind, our evening aptly commenced with a couple of cocktails which were simply wonderful. Both were presented beautifully and tasted amazing.
After cocktails, it was time for dinner. We decided to leave our dining experience in the capable hands of Magoulas by indulging in the tasting menu. This was a decision we did not regret. All dishes were elegant, wonderfully presented and packed full of flavour. The dishes were finessed, cohesive, imaginative and boasted wonderful flavours.
Highlights from the dinner included the dish of sweet feta which featured crispy flaky pastry encasing creamy feta and topped with honey, figs and thyme. The lobster ravioli was similarly delicious – think al dente pasta filled with generous lobster, shrimps and salmon laced with a rich bisque and finished with corn and basil. An absolute crowd pleaser was the dish of octopus – this had us fighting over the last morsel. Think tender slow cooked octopus topper with luscious fish roe cream, black mayonnaise and finished with a bacon vinaigrette. This beautiful dish with well-balanced flavours that kept us wanting more.
Dessert time showcased the kitchen’s versatility. Again, outstanding. We adored the dessert simply called “cheesecake” which is a clever and thoroughly modern interpretation of the original. Whatever you do, make sure you try this. You can thank us later.
