Mr Robertson Café is the stylish younger brother to Mister & Miss that is adding a splash of vibrant, modern Australian brunch dishes to the Nunawading food scene.
The space is designed by renowned Melbourne architect Maria Danos and is a controlled composition of Tasmanian blackwood, custom Fibonacci stone and stunning charred clay tones. The result is a unique cafe space with an ambience that is modern and inviting.
We loved tasting our way through the menu. Our top picks include the zucchini and cauliflower fritters. The fritters were moreishly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and served with bacon, luxurious avocado, relish and a fresh herb salad.
The dish of salmon was similarly delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection – crispy skin and wonderfully moist. The accompanying cherry tomatoes, spinach, fennel and deep fried Enoki mushrooms added interest and texture and were brought together by the rich lemon and dill sauce.
For sweet tooths the pancakes are the way to go. Think fluffy buttermilk pancakes adorned with creamy vanilla mascarpone, chocolate, berries and drizzled with maple syrup.
