Temperance Society is a lovely cafe in Hughesdale with a wonderfully modern menu boasting healthy as well as naughty options which put flavour first.
We recently enjoyed a takeaway brunch which we enjoyed in the comfort of our own home and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious.
The pescatore was a stunner, featuring perfectly cooked seafood including plump prawns and mussels. It was a faultless dish perfect for seafood lovers.
The Temperance Q’Bowl was similarly delicious - a stunning nutrient dense amalgamation of qunoa, sultanas, cranberries, cashew nuts, walnuts, cherry tomatoes, capsicum, broccoli, pomegranate, spinach and pecorino cheese finished with a dollop of creamy parsnip puree and brought together by a lemon ginger dressing.
If you have a sweet tooth, do not go past the pandan waffle. This tasted even better than it looked. Think fluffy and aromatic pandan waffles topped with blueberry ricotta, passionfruit, pomegranate, banana slices, fresh mixed berries, mango scotch, poached pear slices and decadent chocolate mascarpone. Just yum!
As expected of any great Melbourne café, the coffee at Temperance is delicious and poured by adept baristas.
