Torpe is a lovely little café located in leafy Armadale. Bright, airy and cosy, the café is the brainchild of Zachary Riggs (Two Wrongs in South Yarra) and boasts a delectable menu of interesting and moreish brunch options.
As expected of any good Melbourne café, the coffee (from Axil) is great and poured by adept baristas. Our top picks from the menu include the soul bowl – an enticing amalgamation of beetroot hummus, wok tossed greens, bean shoots, zucchini ribbons, kimchi kraut, cauliflower rice, organic white quinoa, miso baked pumpkin, pickled radish, alfalfa sprouts, nori sesame, lotus chips and boiled egg.
For something naughtier, we suggest you try the matcha waffles. Think fluffy waffles topped with pink coconut yoghurt, strawberry and hibiscus coyo ice cream, raspberry crumb, marshmallows and fresh berries.
