Located in Eastland, Block 7 Dumplings is a stunning restaurant serving moreish Chinese cuisine.

Upon entering Block 7 Dumplings St Kilda, diners will be pleased by the restaurant’s chic ambience. Designed to capture a contemporary and communal feel, the expansive dining room is adorned with wood, splashes of colour and different textures for a stunning contrast.

In line with its social setting, the menu is designed for sharing - ranging from various small plates, dishes from the wok, dumplings and noodles. There is something to suit everyone.

To start, we loved the dumplings. The Xiao Long Bao was delicious and boasted gracefully delicate pastry skin enveloping rich pork-seasoned broth. The chilli wontons were another winner. We loved the velvety wonton pastry which was beautiful in texture and the accompanying sea of sweet soy, peanut sauce and dried chilli was pleasantly appetising. Cooked with the perfect amount of heat, these wontons tantalised our taste buds.

The Steamed prawn and chive dumplings were another must-have - fresh, light and flavoursome.

For mains, the diced eye fillet in Cantonese Sauce was a stunner. Think tender slices of melt in your mouth beef. Just yum! If you love seafood, then Block 7 Dumplings has you sorted with the Prawns with Kung Bo chilli sauce. This dish left us wanting more – wonderfully moreish and beautiful balance between, savouriness, sweetness and a slight hint of chilli. The BBQ meat at Block 7 Dumplings is a real crowd pleaser so make sure you try some of their roasts. The Roast pork that we had was amazing. Think crispy pork crackling and juicy, tender meat. Each of our main dishes paired beautifully with rice.

Dessert time at Block 7 Dumplings continues to excite. A lovely take on the traditional, the desserts are very well executed and delicious. We particularly enjoyed Block 7 Dumplings’ take on the traditional red bean pancake. The pancake had a pleasant chewiness which contrasted nicely with the soft red bean paste and its crispy exterior. It was a simple but truly superb dessert. The ice cream selection at Block 7 is also great. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavours but if you want to try something unique, make sure you get your hands on the miso flavoured ice cream. Simply delicious!

More than just dumplings, Block 7 Dumplings affords a memorable dining experience that comprises delicious food at a very reasonable price point in a relaxing setting. We cannot wait to return.
