Golden Peony

Sophisticated and intimate, the award-winning Golden Peony Chinese restaurant, helmed by Singapore’s Celebrity Chef Ku Keung, offers exquisite Cantonese creations and signature dim sum. 

We loved tasting our way through the Rediscovery degustation menu. 

To start the crispy soft-shell crab was absolutely delicious. The sweet crab boasted an ethereally light batter and was beautifully seasoned with truffle and served with Golden Peony’s signature homemade XO sauce. 

To follow, the double boiled kami sakuta chicken was stunning and had a beautiful depth of flavour. 

The fish course continued to please. We loved the steamed Jade Perch served with a classically Cantonese amalgamation of ginger, scallion, sesame oil and superior soy sauce.

For the meat course, the kurobuta pork left us wanting more. Wrapped tightly in a layer of bacon, the pork was baked to perfection and was wonderfully juicy.

The savoury courses came to a grand conclusion with the crispy egg noodle served with plump lobster and an umami-laden signature sauce made with ginger, scallion and eggs. Just yum.

Our visit was rounded off nicely with Golden Peony’s signature dessert of soya pudding which looked as pretty as a picture. What looked like a beautiful koi fish in a beautiful pond was soya pudding served with aloe vera, peach resin and longan in a sweet red date broth.

Tranquil ambience combined with refined Cantonese cuisine makes Golden Peony a popular choice for business lunches and private dinners. Certainly, a must-visit when in Singapore.
