Located in the heart of Chinatown, Ishiya Stone Grill offers a truly unique dining experience perfect for meat and seafood lovers. The restaurant’s signature stonegrill dining option is one not to be missed. Succulent meat and fresh seafood is cooked on a 400 degree celcius volcanic stone accompanied with various enticing Japanese dipping sauces. Each diner is presented with their own stones where they can grill their steak or seafood to their liking.
We opted for the wagyu tasting stonegrill set as well as the beef combination stonegrill set and were not disappointed. The quality of the beef was excellent and being able to grill the meat on our own meant that we could cook it just the way we liked it.
As well as the delectable meats cooked on stone grills, Ishiya also offers expertly crafted Japanese fusion dishes – from fresh sashimi to sake spaghetti, soufflé rice and a variety of Japanese tapas. Highlights from our visit included the melt in your mouth agedashi tofu, stunning tempura featuring ethereally light batter, flavoursome seafood gyoza and exceedingly fresh salmon sashimi.
Our visit concluded on a sweet note with some beautiful ice cream – black sesame, almond crunch and green tea matcha.
