Moet & Chandon Champagne Lunch at Morris Jones

Morris Jones now offers a Moet & Chandon Champagne lunch which is available every Friday- Sunday from 12-3:00pm. 

The lunch is a wonderful way to ease into the day,  catch up with friends or spoil a special someone. Diners choose between 2 courses for $35 or 3 courses at $45, inclusive of a glass of wine. You can also add on a bottle of Moet for $69 or oysters for an additional treat. 

Under Head Chef Matthew Butcher’s guidance the food at Morris Jones has been taken to new and unexpected heights. All the dishes we sampled were quirky, playful but most of all, they are simply delicious. And of course, all the dishes go down a treat with champagne. 

The ambience of Morris Jones is stylish and relaxed, with the 1887 heritage building providing the perfect canvas for the culinary art. The service was how it should be - relaxed, friendly and attentive. 

To start we enjoyed the champagne-marinated poached salmon, asparagus and fennel. It was simply stunning. This dish was well balanced, loaded with umami and complex, due in part to the skilfully cooked salmon. 

For mains, the wild barramundi with broccoli couscous, chicken skin and Champagne veloute is highly recommended - a restrained and elegant dish. 

Morris Jones delivered a superb dessert and cheese course to conclude our meal.  The triple cream cheese with honey was lovely as was the house speciality dessert of nitro violet crumble. We loved the theatre as the honeycomb which had been frozen in liquid nitrogen was ladled over violet ice cream.
