Brainchild of owners Anastasios Stamatiou, Tony Tzoumabas head chef Dimitrios Petrakos, Northern Eatery is a celebration of informal dining which draws heavily on the breadth of Anastasios’s international experience. The focus of the venue is to welcome local and visiting customers with a warm and relaxed atmosphere and an emphasis on quality food and service.
The menu is created using the best seasonal and locally sourced produce and offers creative dishes, as well as old favourites with a twist.
If you are in the mood for sharing and gorging, the menu has plenty of options.
Our favourites include the Lamb shoulder is a stunning plate of melt in your mouth lamb served with smoked eggplant puree, vibrant pomegranate and pistachio.
The Polpettine di Melanzane is similarly delicious. Crispy on the outside and filled with a moreish amalgamation of eggplant, parmesan and walnut, the polpettine are served atop a sea of Napoli sauce laced with cheese. Simple, but simply beautiful.
For something heartier, the lamb cutlets are a beauty. Think perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb cutlets served with roasted pumpkin, feta and brussel sprouts.
Last, but certainly not least, for those with a sweet disposition, you can’t go past the indulgent Spiced cake. Wonderfully light and fluffy, this was an exemplary take on the classic sticky date pudding. Decadently coated in copious amounts of rich caramel sauce and topped with vanilla bean ice cream, it was an absolute treat.
