Skillet

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, an epicurean haven emerged in 2015, inviting food enthusiasts on an exquisite journey through the rich tapestry of Modern European cuisine. Skillet, an urban culinary oasis spanning two floors, celebrates the seasonal bounty of the European continent.

Embracing a carefree spirit to blend and experiment with unconventional flavour profiles, the restaurant redefines dining conventions, inviting guests to indulge in a symphony of tastes and aesthetics that challenge preconceived notions of food.

The current rendition of Skillet's menu is a celebration of spring. During a recent visit for lunch, the sheer creativity of the culinary team was evident as they curated a casual yet exquisite fine dining experience.

The journey commenced with a tantalising first course, a symphony of flavours encapsulated in small bites. From the intriguing blend of Compressed Pear with Clarified Cucumber Noodle and Feta to the tantalising Seafood Tart adorned with a Sphere of Dill, and the playful Confit Chestnut paired with Garum Sable, Skillet unveiled a realm of taste sensations.

Following the appetising prelude, the culinary odyssey continued with dishes that danced on the taste buds. The Duck Prosciutto, embellished with Fig, Purple Sweet Potato, Hazelnut, and a touch of Glühwein air, showcased a harmonious marriage of flavours. Meanwhile, the Scallop dish, a fusion of Apple, Celery, and Fermented Tomato, delighted in its innovative composition.

The main courses were similarly enjoyable. The Halibut Fish Confit, paired masterfully with Gnocchi, Bonito Fermented Beans, and a hint of Lemon Foam, offered a symphony of textures and tastes. Simultaneously, the Rack of Lamb, infused with Koji, Pomme de Terre, and a Prune & Coffee Jus, boasted perfectly executed elements.

As the culinary voyage reached its crescendo, the desserts tantalised the senses. The Pecan Mousse, adorned with Maple and Morello Cherry, was a delightful blend of sweet nuances. However, the pièce de résistance was the signature dessert, Textures of Chocolate. This spectacle comprised white chocolate 'popcorn', cocoa soil, and a cranberry coulis, a sensory delight boasting a perfect balance of bitter, sweet, and sour notes.

At Skillet, guests are invited to traverse uncharted flavour territories, challenging their palates and embracing the magic of Modern European cuisine.
