Tirta Gangga

Thanks to Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali, we had the opportunity to visit the Tirta Gangga Water Palace.

Tirta Gangga was the former water palace of the Karangasem empire and is one of east Bali’s most famous sights. The unique site boasts 1.2ha of pools, ponds and fountains surrounded by tropical gardens. It was truly a breathtaking sight of ornamental gardens with swimming pools, fountains, stone carvings, fish ponds, and airy pavilions. The Tirta Gangga literally translates to water from the Ganges (India's holy Ganges River) and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese.
