The resort offers a host of world class facilities and dining experiences nestled among the romantic setting of tranquil Balinese gardens. Guests can choose to stay in a range of accommodation from spectacular private pool villas, luxurious Jacuzzi and pool suites overlooking the beach or stylishly appointed deluxe rooms.

The resort serves as the perfect base to experience the authentic side of Bali, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centres, but within easy reach of nearby Klungkung and Ubud, the world-class surfing break of Keramas and the Bali Marine and Safari Park.

The resort prides itself on creating personalised and memorable experiences for each and every guest. After sharing our preferences for the things we loved, the resort came up with a specially curated itinerary which we thoroughly loved. Here is what our 48 hours at the resort looked like…

Day 1

12.00 – 14.00: Checking into our Suite

We loved staying in one of their luxurious Pool suites which boasted ocean views of the dazzling Klungkung coastline. Surrounded by lush nature, the beautifully appointed suite featured stylish decor accented with authentic local textures. We absolutely adored the plunge pool in our private balcony along with the wonderfully appointed bathroom with separate bathtub, rain shower, toilet, and spacious living area.

14.00 – 15.30:  Lunch at Jivva Beach Club with Chef Budi

We were spoiled with a special lunch by Chef Budi at the beautiful Jivva Beach Club. The restaurant is a stunning coastal dining experience which serves tantalising Indonesian cuisine prepared with the freshest seafood, as well as international cuisine with a local twist. Unique and customised meal options are also available for guests seeking something unique or with dietary requirements. We were blown away by the creative and simply delicious dishes by Chef Budi. Think pizza with sambal mata and Amatriciana pasta tossed with Balinese chicory. Just yum!

15.30 – 17.30:  Tirta Spa

A destination synonymous with relaxation and rejuvenation, Tirta Spa focuses on a holistic approach to wellness and utilises ancient Balinese traditions in its treatments to restore and renew the body. The word Tirta is Sanskrit for Holy Water and adopts the Balinese practice of achieving balance to revitalise the mind, body and soul. Designed to showcase an exclusive and natural environment, Tirta’s eight beachside garden huts all include a personal bathroom with a rain shower and bath as well as a private terrace.

Wellness programs can be facilitated at Tirta’s alfresco deck, which shelters guests from the elements and accommodates groups of up to 40 for yoga retreats.

Simply one of the best spas we have ever experienced, we loved the mesmerizing beachside location with its exotic garden hut setting which draws on Balinese tradition. We were completely rejuvenated after our 90 minute massage and were ready to take in all that Bali has to offer.

18.00 – 19.30: Dinner at Jivva Beach Club

We excitedly returned for dinner at Jivva Beach Club where passionate Chef Budi had curated a 3 course dinner for us to enjoy. We sipped on cocktails and watched the sunset whilst listening to the cool tunes from Resident DJ’s. The dinner was (as expected) absolutely wonderful. A stunning seaweed and prawns salad boasted exciting flavour combinations while a quinoa and fruit salad showcased restraint and balance. To follow, heartier dishes of perfectly cooked chicken and fish filled our bellies with joy while an interesting dessert which featured tofu ice cream delighted the senses.

Day 2

07.00 – 09.00: Breakfast at Bumbu Restaurant

The buffet breakfast at Bumbu Restaurant is simply a decadent affair - An opportunity to start the day with an amazing meal! There is something for everyone. Whether you like Western options or local favourites, you will be well taken care of. There is even a fruit station where fresh fruit is prepared before your eyes so you know you’re getting it all extra fresh. Our tip is to go for the local cuisine so you can get a true taste of Bali to start your day.

09.00 – 14:00: Excursion

We were soon aboard Wyndham’s private shuttle where a day of exploration had been organised for us.

Our first stop was Goa Lawah Temple. This means Bat Cave Temple for a good reason – the cave is home to plenty of bats and is a shrine for Balinese Hindus. According to some tales, the cave has a pathway up to Besakih temple in the north at the foot of Mount Agung. This temple was established in the 11th century by Mpu Kuturan, one of the early priests who laid the foundations of Hinduism on the island. Our amazing hosts at Wyndham knew that sarongs would be required to enter the temple and had these prepared for us so that we could gain entry with ease.

Next stop was the Tirta Gangga Water Palace - the former water palace of the Karangasem empire and is one of east Bali’s most famous sights. The unique site boasts 1.2ha of pools, ponds and fountains surrounded by tropical gardens. It was truly a breathtaking sight of ornamental gardens with swimming pools, fountains, stone carvings, fish ponds, and airy pavilions. The Tirta Gangga literally translates to water from the Ganges (India's holy Ganges River) and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese.

Our final stop was Taman Ujung Karangasem, a water palace that has a floating palace located on an area of more than 10 hectares in Tumbu Village in the Karangasem Regency. We were mesmerised by the charm and uniqueness of Taman Soekasada Ujung. A combination of Balinese, Chinese, and European architecture, three large pools are connected by long elegant bridges and pathways. The stunning surrounds were simply the perfect spot for a picnic. Wyndham organised for a beautiful picnic to be set up so we could relax and enjoy a meal while taking all the beauty in.

15:00 - 17:00: Tirta Spa

Words could not describe our excitement to return to Tirta Spa for yet another amazing massage. This time we indulged in the signature massage which includes a mud treatment. This was truly wonderful. The experience started (as always at Tirta Spa) with a foot wash and scrub. We were then escorted to our massage beds where we lay down and enjoyed a stunning 90 minute massage which included the mud treatment left on our backs so we could soak in all its healing properties. To finish a beautiful flower bath awaited. It was truly a sensational experience.

18.00 – 20.00: Indonesian Street Food Night at Jivva Beach Club

Saturday nights at Jivva Beach Club features their Indonesian Street Food buffet and also includes traditional performances. It was a breathtaking array of delicious food. Highly recommended if you would like to taste your way around the local cuisine and eat yourself silly.

Day 3

07.00 – 09.00: Floating breakfast

One of the perks of being in a suite with a private pool is being able to enjoy Wyndham Tamansari Jivva’s signature floating breakfast. This is a thing of beauty and makes for a truly relaxing start to the day.

09.00 – 12.00: Cooking Class and lunch with Chef Budi

When you’re at Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Bali, we recommend you make time for a cooking class with Chef Budi. Put your chef hat on and get involved in a cooking class (you can be as hands-on or as hands-off as you want to be, they welcome all levels of skill!). In addition to preparing a selection of sumptuous dishes, Chef Budi shares tips in the kitchen as well as takes you through traditional Balinese ingredients so you can increase your kitchen skills and culinary knowledge. After learning from Chef Budi, we sat down for a lovely meal in a relaxed and fun environment. If you have visited Bali, you'll know how mouth-wateringly delicious Indonesian cuisine is. So this is a great opportunity to take some skills back home with you that you can share with others.

Away from the busy tourist regions, Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali invites guests to explore the area of Klungkung where its roads once led to sacred temples, ancient villages and the royal palaces. Guests can immerse themselves in authentic local experiences with cycling trips through rice plantations providing insights into the Balinese way of living. The resort is also in close proximity to the Klungkung palace and art markets for guests to gain a deeper cultural understanding of the region. An ideal destination for beach-goers and experienced surfers, the resort stretches out onto a dramatic black volcanic sand beachfront for lounging all day in the sun, and is a ten minute drive to world-class surf break, Keramas.
