Tokyo Tina

Having launched in February 2015, Tokyo Tina (sister to popular hawker-style venues Saigon Sally and Hanoi Hannah) represents the best of Japanese street-eats.

The venue is well-known for its mouth watering dishes and signature cocktails perfect for foodies and the health conscious.

We loved tasting our way through the menu.

The Harvey Bay Scallops were absolutely beautiful and refreshing and served with white ponzu, yuzukosho and chives. The white cut chicken was similarly delicious, featuring slippery soba noodles dressed in the most addictive sesame tahini and Szechuan sauce.

Tokyo Tina continued to steal our hearts with the show stopping beef brisket bao. Featuring melt in your mouth umami-laden beef brisket combined with pickles and adorned with luscious kewpie, the bao really hit the mark.

For something heartier, the Pork Hock Ssam is a must. The pork hock was legendary. It combined amazingly crisp pork hock skin, intensely flavoured with rich Asian style master stock, with delectably succulent pork and an intoxicating array of sauces and garnishes. Assembled similarly to a san choi bao, a lettuce cup is used as a “base” and then layered with sauce before adding some pulled pork hock and finished off with some garnish.

Dessert time at Tokyo Tina continues to please and showcases the restaurant's versatility. Whatever you do, make sure you do not leave without trying the Yuzu Meringue Pie. Think yuzu curd, white chocolate mousse and shiso marshmallow. You can thank us later.
