Guylian, the world’s favourite Belgian chocolates, has opened its first Melbourne café. Nestled in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD at 146 Swanston Street, locals can discover Guylian Belgian Chocolate, known world-wide for its Sea Shells in fine Belgian chocolate with a homemade roasted hazelnut praline filling, whilst indulging in the varied food and beverage offerings from the fully licensed café.
We met the lovely Melbourne franchise owner Anjali Diddi who is at the helm of this delectable new Melbourne café. Her genuine passion and excitement was infectious - it was a pleasure to see.
Melbourne’s brand new Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café is so much more than just a coffee house. It offers a complete assortment of fresh dishes and drinks to enjoy during every ‘sweet’ moment of the day in a relaxing, indulging and refined environment. The menu will consist of a wide assortment of cold and hot chocolate drinks and coffees; chocolate desserts, ice cream and Belgian specialties; including fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes.
There is also an exclusive range of Guylian chocolate in custom made, hand wrapped and exclusive packaging for special occasions throughout the year available to take home.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Guylian’s famous hot chocolate impressed. Made using only melted Guylian cocoa mass it had been brewed to perfection and served with a signature Guylian seashell which melted away as the hot chocolate was poured over it. We loved the perfect hint of mint which complemented this special blend of chocolate milk.
Raw Cacao, Banana and Coconut Smoothie
A delicious decadent smoothie for a mature palate.
Sweet Belgian waffles served with vanilla bourbon ice cream and Guylian Dark Chocolate Dip and Seasonal Fresh Fruit
The waffles were perfectly made - crisp and well-browned on the outside with a moist, light, airy and fluffy inside. They were the perfect canvas for the gooey dark chocolate and fresh fruits.
100% Pure Pleasure
A dessert made of airy Belgian chocolate mousse, melt in your mouth almond panna cotta and adorned with heavenly Guylian chocolate icing, this was as described - 100% pure pleasure.
The Passion Temptation was again, beautifully made. A layered dessert of decadent white chocolate mousse with caramelised passionfruit cream, we loved the balance of sweetness and tartness in this dessert.
Guylian Belgian Chocolate’s retail and café concept is a chocoholics dream come true - a place to enjoy a chocolate drink with your chocolate treat. Or for the not-so chocolate inclined an ideal location to enjoy a coffee with colleagues during the day or a glass of wine or two with friends in the evening.
