David’s Restaurant and Oriental Teahouse reopen doors with open minds

The Oriental Teahouse Group have announced the decision to resume dine-in service in light of eased COVID-19 restrictions in Melbourne. Oriental Teahouse will reopen its doors on Monday 1 June at both Chapel Street and Little Collins Street locations, while Prahran’s long-treasured David’s Restaurant will reopen on Wednesday 3 June.

Oriental Teahouse will return with its regular a la carte service at the Chapel Street venue every day from 11.30am-8.30pm and Little Collins Street Monday to Saturday from 12-3pm and 5-
8.30pm.

Launching in response to initial restrictions, Oriental Teahouse’s build-your-own dumpling kits continue to be a favourite among dumpling-lovers and families alike. The kits will remain available for sale online and instore due to popular demand.

The venue is also excited to announce that for the first time, Northside customers will no longer go without their favourite dumplings with Brunswick residents and surrounding suburbs
now able to order Oriental Teahouse take-away straight to their door via Deliveroo.

Melbourne knows yum cha and David’s Restaurant is coming back with a bang with more yum cha feasting than ever before. Ensuring Melburnians get their much-needed fix of Shanghainese goodness, David’s will be open for 6pm and 8pm dinner seatings Wednesday to Friday for only $45pp. Weekend service will be $50pp for lunchtime seatings at 11.30am and 1.30pm as well as dinner service at 6pm and 8pm on Saturday nights.

For added flair, selected sessions will also carry a special theme like spicy or vegan yum cha. Each Sunday will be reserved for David’s classic yum cha, so details on themed feasts will be announced on the website. The restaurant will also continue to offer guests BYO at only $15 corkage for Wednesday and Thursday dinners and Saturday lunch – a tradition at the restaurant that will still continue for service.

David’s popular $56 take-home yum cha boxes which showcase a quality selection of yum cha favourites will remain available for delivery or pick-up here – ensuring no one misses out on the yum cha experience.
