Flametrees Restaurant
/
Tucked within the leafy surrounds of Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island, Flametrees Restaurant, Cafe & Bar offers a relaxed yet polished dining experience that feels perfectly suited to a Phillip Island escape. While many visitors flock to the island for its beaches, wildlife and coastal charm, Flametrees has quietly built a reputation as a dependable local favourite for an easy, satisfying dinner after a day of exploring.
Open Wednesday to Sunday from breakfast through to dinner, the restaurant strikes a balance between casual holiday dining and elevated comfort food. Warm lighting, a welcoming atmosphere and a menu that leans into hearty crowd-pleasers make it equally appealing for families, couples and groups settling in for a long evening meal.
To start, the Char Sui Pork Belly Bites are an easy standout. Served with Asian slaw, chilli and sesame seed, the dish delivers everything you want from a starter — sticky, caramelised pork with crisp edges, balanced by freshness and crunch from the slaw. It’s rich without being heavy and pairs particularly well with a drink from the bar while deciding on mains.
Another highlight comes from the adjoining woodfired pizzeria, which operates daily from 4pm to 8.30pm. The Bomba pizza layers chorizo, garlic marinated prawns, lemon, parsley and mozzarella cheese across a crisp woodfired base, delivering a combination that feels both indulgent and perfectly suited to holiday dining shared among friends or family.
Seafood lovers will appreciate the Crispy Skin Salmon Fillet, which arrives beautifully cooked with golden crisp skin and tender flesh. Accompanied by garlic chat potatoes, snow peas and a bright lemon caper butter, the dish feels classic but thoughtfully executed, offering a lighter option among the restaurant’s more indulgent offerings.
For something heartier, the Braised Lamb Shank delivers pure comfort dining. Slow-cooked until falling off the bone, it’s served atop creamy garlic mash with broccolini and finished with a rich red wine jus. It’s the kind of dish that suits Phillip Island’s cooler coastal evenings perfectly and showcases the kitchen’s focus on generous, approachable flavours.
Alongside the regular menu, Flametrees also rotates nightly specials, with curries and eye fillet among the offerings on our visit, giving returning diners something new to look forward to each time.
Dessert continues the comforting theme. The Churros arrive dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with vanilla ice cream and strawberries for a playful finish that’s ideal for sharing. Meanwhile, the Chocolate Pudding leans decadent and rich, softened by the addition of vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries.
For guests staying at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island, the convenience of having a quality restaurant on-site is a major bonus, while visitors simply passing through will find Flametrees worth seeking out as part of their Phillip Island itinerary.
In a destination known for its natural attractions, Flametrees Restaurant, Cafe & Bar proves there’s also plenty to enjoy once the sun goes down.
