Established in 2000, The Meat & Wine Co pleases with modern cuisine which focuses on quality meats.

The kitchen prides itself in serving world class produce including the restaurant's exclusive line of Monte Beef. Designed from paddock to plate through a multi-channel monitored program, the beef sourced if consistently of a top grade. Alongside quality cuisine, the restaurant boasts an impressive array of Australia’s most unique wines from favourites and award winners to boutique wines.

We recently visited The Meat & Wine Co's newest venue in South Yarra and were pleased by its opulent interiors and modern flare.

To start we enjoyed the Piri-Piri Scallops. Wild sea scallops had been seared and served alongside luxurious pea puree, pickled samphire and addictive chicken crackling and finished with a delectably spicy piri piri vinaigrette.

Similarly enjoyable was the Palava Prawns. We enjoyed this enticing North African dish of seared prawns, silverbeet and toasted pepitas.

For mains, the Monte Free Range Rib-Eye on the bone was an absolute showstopper. Cooked to perfection, the beef was well seasoned and retained a juicy, tender consistency throughout. It was a true testament of the quality of the meet sourced and the arduous aging process that Meat & Wine Co prides itself in.

The chocolate and hazelnut fondant concluded our evening on a sweet note. Boasting an oozy white chocolate and hazelnut centre, the fondant was served with moreish fior di latte ice cream, short bread biscuit and caramel nougatine. Just yum!
