Mark and his wife Victoria produce a menu focused on fresh, local produce every day, accompanied by a wine and beer list that highlights the best of Gippsland. Mark and Victoria ensure that the restaurant delivers a memorable dining experience with a focus on quality produce from great local producers. Expect deliciously modern and progressive dishes.
Highlights included the barbecued octopus served with white beans, cauliflower and lemon verbena. We loved the stunning amalgamation of flavours. The dish of heirloom beetroot was similarly stunning and highlighted the natural earthiness and sweetness of the beetroot which went beautifully with smoked ricotta, baby kale and the gentle salinity from the cured duck breast.
For mains the roasted fillet of fish had us fighting over the last morsel. Cooked to absolute perfection, the beautifully fresh snapper was cooked with smoke house bacon, surf clams and beach herbs.
Our visit concluded on a sweet high with a duo of desserts – both divine. The Raymond Island honey and macadamia parfait was decadent and luscious and laced with salted caramel and honeycomb. The pistachio cake was a show stopper and served with feijoa sponge, lemon curd and creamy pistachio ice cream.
There is a lot to love at Sardine - A combination of effortlessly chic ambience, a modern menu that is both fun and progressive alongside amiable service. We cannot wait to return
