Bangkok is a city that dazzles with its energy, creativity and cuisine—and at Tempo, the signature restaurant at Le Méridien Bangkok, that spirit is plated up with finesse. While the restaurant offers a broad international menu to suit every craving, we couldn’t resist diving headfirst into the Thai classics—after all, when in Thailand!
Set in a stylish space that blends contemporary elegance with relaxed comfort, Tempo sets the scene for a memorable evening. The service is warm and polished, and the menu is designed to guide you through the flavours of Thailand with both authenticity and finesse.
We began with a duo of soups that delivered a satisfying punch of flavour. The Tom Yum Goong, a spicy and sour soup with prawns, was bold, bright and beautifully balanced. Meanwhile, the Tom Kha Gai, a creamy coconut-based chicken soup scented with galangal and lemongrass, was rich yet refreshingly light—a perfect contrast.
From there, the Yum Som O salad was a delightful surprise: juicy pomelo segments tossed with herbs, peanuts and a sweet-sour dressing, making each bite vibrant and refreshing. The Green Curry Chicken followed and was another standout—light, aromatic and silky with coconut milk, it felt comforting but not heavy.
The stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts brought a moreish crunch and a touch of sweetness, while the Pla Ka Pong Pad Prik Thai Dum was, without a doubt, the highlight of the night. The stir-fried sea bass arrived sizzling hot, coated in a savoury black pepper and garlic sauce that clung to every bite of the tender fish. It was bold, umami-packed, and utterly addictive.
Of course, no Thai meal is complete without dessert. We shared a beautifully presented mango sticky rice, with ripe, fragrant mango and perfectly chewy rice enriched with coconut cream. But it was the pandan toast topped with gelato that stole our hearts—a playful and indulgent treat that married childhood nostalgia with grown-up elegance.
Tempo also impresses with its beverage offerings. An extensive wine list ensures the perfect pairing for every dish, while creative cocktails and mocktails add a touch of flair to the experience. Whether you're sipping on a Thai-inspired concoction or keeping things fresh with a tropical mocktail, there’s something for every palate.
Whether you’re staying at Le Méridien or simply looking to enjoy a refined yet relaxed dinner in Bangkok, Tempo is a restaurant worth slowing down for.
