Nestled amongst Melbourne’s bustling Southbank Breslin has New York grill vibes, serving up next level ribs and steaks that deliver both quality and quantity. Until the 10th of April the venue also boasts an additional outdoor precinct lined with alfresco spaces extending along the Yarra.

The menu celebrates stunning local produce that can be found within a 200km radius of Melbourne. From Otways and Gippsland to the Mornington Peninsula, expect to find the best that Victoria has to offer.

We loved tasting our way through the menu. An absolute showstopper was the Breslin Signature Beef Wellington which is ranked by Google as the no 1 Beef Wellington in Southbank, and has, unsurprisingly been on the menu for a very long time (14 years!). Think perfectly cooked eye fillet wrapped in layers of pate, and duxelle (a very fine mince of mushrooms, onions, shallots and herbs, cooked down in butter) and spinach.

The Sticky Pork Belly was another must have. We loved the large nuggets of moist pork belly, which contained the perfect amount of unctuous fat, were encased in a crisp outer crust imbibed with sweet chilli caramel sauce. Each bite truly gratified the palate in both texture and taste. We simply could not fault this dish.

Breslin’s ever popular Beef Ribs also met our expectations admiringly and were served with a crisp cabbage salad and crunchy thick cut chips.

If you have a sweet tooth, make sure you try the Chocolate Mud Cake and Lemongrass Creme Brulee (with a scoop of vanilla Ice cream). Both are simply heavenly.
