Fatto Bar & Cantina is an all-day Italian eatery located on the river terrace within Melbourne’s Art Centre. The restaurant and bar boasts spectacular views across Melbourne’s city skyline and Yarra river, impressing guests with fresh, modern interpretations of the Italian classics.
We were thoroughly spoiled by their feasting menu which costs $55 per person.
To start, an excellent selection of antipasti – prosciutto di parma and stracciatella alongside two small plates of wagyu carpaccio and kingfish tartare. The carpaccio was of particular note. We loved how the beef has been sliced delicately thin and adorned generously with aromatic truffle pesto, parmesan and aged balsamic. Simply stunning.
The spaghettini graced our presence next. As expected of any good Italian restaurant, Fatto make excellent pasta dishes. The spaghettini was al dente and tossed in a beautiful sea of spanner crab, lemon and chilli.
The La tagliata was similarly delicious. The 300g sirloin was cooked perfectly from end to end and served with mizuna, parmesan, balsamic and a bowl of crunchy chips.
