Our evening began with caviar bumps — a decadent start that set the tone for what was to follow. The Chef’s Menu unfolded with delicate edamame, a refreshing palate primer, before the indulgence of an oyster shooter and chicken karaage with caviar, a playful yet luxurious twist on a comfort classic.
The spicy tuna toast arrived next, packing both texture and flavour, before the show-stopping Zekkai Signature Platter, a work of art that showcased the chef’s vision in its most complete form. Comfort came in the form of a warming miso soup, only to be elevated again by the richness of crayfish miso butter, a dish that lingered long after the final bite. The evening reached its crescendo with perfectly marbled Stone Axe Wagyu M6/8, a melt-in-the-mouth moment that sealed the omakase journey with pure indulgence.
To pair with the menu, Zekkai offers curated cocktails, premium tequilas, and a touch of sake, each carefully selected to complement the dining experience while adding to the glamour of Melbourne’s newest sky-high destination.
