Fei Ya, Bangkok

Tucked within the luxurious Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, Fei Ya (meaning “flying duck”) is one of Bangkok’s most celebrated Chinese restaurants — and with good reason. Under the masterful direction of Chef Cheung Chin Choi, an expert in both dim sum artistry and Cantonese classics, Fei Ya delivers a dining experience that is as refined as it is flavourful. With elegant Chinese motifs, dark polished hardwood floors, and the warm glow of hand-blown red glass ducks, the restaurant’s setting feels both opulent and intimate.

Here, duck takes centre stage — incredibly delicious duck. The standout is without question the lychee wood-roasted Peking duck “Hong Kong style”, a dish that is an absolute must try. Perfectly roasted for lean, crispy skin and succulent meat, the duck is expertly carved tableside into thin slices of golden skin, which you wrap in delicate pancakes with hoisin sauce, cucumber, and spring onion. But Fei Ya takes the experience further — you’ll also enjoy a second duck dish crafted from the remaining meat. We opted for the pan-fried egg noodles with duck meat, a fragrant, savoury delight that completed the duck experience beautifully.

The menu continues to impress with its diverse Cantonese offerings. Dim sum lovers will adore the premium har gow, made with juicy, plump prawns and topped with glistening roe, as well as the pork spare ribs with sticky honey, soy sauce, and lime — a rich yet balanced combination of sweet, savoury, and tangy notes. The deep-fried prawns with wasabi deliver a pleasing crunch and gentle heat, while the freshness of the seafood shines through.

Desserts here are equally refined. The mango pudding with lychee, pomelo, and coconut sorbet offers a bright and tropical finish, while the coconut sorbet with sago honeydew, chia seed, and sea coconut is a refreshing, textural treat.

To complement your meal, Fei Ya’s tea bar offers over 30 varieties of some of the most exquisite and rare teas in Bangkok, served with a touch of theatre by the in-house Tea Master.

Whether you’re visiting for dim sum, indulging in the signature duck, or exploring the full Cantonese repertoire, Fei Ya delivers on every front — balancing tradition, creativity, and impeccable execution. For lovers of authentic Cantonese cuisine, this is one Bangkok dining destination not to be missed.
